Here's everything you need to know about the E-Win Flash XL Gaming Chair before you hit the buy button.

When it comes time to buy a new gaming, office, or work desk chair, the options these days are endless. From industry icons like Secretlab to high quality budget options like DXRacer, the market has never been more packed. Recently, we were able to test the E-Win Flash Series XL Gaming Chair, and after a few weeks of all day work and gaming sessions, we can comfortably say this chair doesn’t disappoint. A sturdy base with plenty of cushion and recline, the Flash XL proved to be everything we needed to replace an old gaming chair and more.

The E-Win Flash XL gaming chair is perfect for larger games looking for the perfect chair. Built to for anyone between 5'7" and 7'0" and able to hold up to 550 lbs, this is truly a special chair when it comes to accommodating anyone. Built to last, the Flash XL gaming chair has stain resistant PU leather on the exterior and high density foam similar to memory foam on the interior to ensure comfort for hours at a time. The multi-tilt mechanism holding the chair helps keeps things steady, so you don't have to worry about any sudden movements knocking you over during intense boss battles.

When the package arrived at our door we were slightly concerned. The large box, which weighed 60 pounds, showed some signs of damage from its journey. Once inside, we were able to open the box and assess any damage. Thanks to E-Win’s excellent packing process, everything inside the box was in excellent condition, all wrapped in various forms of protective packaging.

The first page of the instruction manual made it so that we could confirm everything that was supposed to come with the E-Win Flash Series XL was included:

The only issue here was that the instruction seems to be universal for every product, so while everything inside could be correctly identified, the images in the manual did not match all the parts in the box, which was slightly confusing during the building process.

Presentation wise the E-Win Flash Series XL Gaming Chair doesn’t reinvent the wheel, giving gamers exactly what they’re used to: a racing style chair with a lumbar support pillow and a head support cushion. That’s not a criticism though. The racing design is fairly standard across the board, allowing brands to spend more time focusing on the more important details like what materials the chair is made out of, how durable it is, and how functional it is. In those respects, the Flash Series XL Gaming Chair excels.

In the comparison photo below, it's easy to tell the difference in thickness between the E-Win chair (right) and another gaming chair (left). The Flash XL has a more ergonomic friendly back arch, making sitting for long periods at a time much more palatable.

The Flash XL Gaming Chair also isn’t trying to fool anyone’s with its size. It’s not just XL in name. But all that size translates to what feels like a sturdy chair. Other big and tall chair makers could take note. It rocks slightly, but we haven’t felt off balance once. And maybe most importantly, the armrests don't flail about wildly at the slightest touch. The comparison chair had armrests that were not to be trusted. Several levels of adjustment allow the armrests to match any preferred armrest height.

If there is anything negative to say about the presentation and design of the E-Win Flash XL Gaming Chair, it’s with the head support cushion. In the position as placed in the instruction manual, it sits just under the neck almost squarely between the shoulder blades. To get the height correct, we moved the pillow up higher (as shown). This was also a major issue on my previous chair, but that chair was designed in a way that this work around was impossible.

After two weeks of testing, working eight hours a day plus gaming after (yes, the work rig and gaming rig are one and the same), we can safely say the E-Win Flash XL is comfortable. The old chair padding, about five years old, flattened fairly quickly. The Flash XL has no such problem, keeping us cushioned and supported for so long that sometimes we forget we're sitting. Thankfully our watch reminds every hour we should go for a walk just to be annoying.

E-Win lists the Flash XL as being suited for anyone between 5’7” and 7’0” with the ability to support up to 550 lbs. Testing it at 5’10” and 220 lbs on a good day, it feels like the chair was designed specifically for this height and weight. The seat is made from high density integrated foaming and is 5.5” thick. After several uses it of course flattens a little, but nothing noticeable.

The armrests stay in place and are adjustable to match just about any arm height desired. This is important when we're working as finding the right height comparative to the lip of my desk helps relieve pressure on the mouse wrist when finding the right ergonomic location. For PC gamers using a mouse and keyboard this should also come as a welcome relief as there won’t be any unexpected movements during intense gaming sessions.

The bottom line with the E-Win Flash XL gaming chair when it comes to comfort is that it delivers on what it promises. Long gaming sessions are a breeze with a thick seat that can be tilted and adjusted to match your preferred angles. Armrests work as promised, which is not something a lot of gaming chair manufacturers pull off. And most importantly it feels durable. We expect this chair to last several years without wearing down a considerable amount - and that makes us very happy because chairs aren’t cheap, so you need to find one that is going to last.

There are a few key features with the E-Win Flash XL gaming chair that we haven’t touched upon yet. First is the material. Made from E-Win stain resistant 2.0 PU leather, the chair looks as good as it feels. E-Win promises that this stain resistant material will stand up to multiple cleanings without breaking down. In the two weeks we've tested the chair, we didn’t spill any liquid on it, although some crumbs did find their way into the cracks. But crumbs are easy to wipe or vacuum away. For now, we'll have to take E-Win on their words since no beverages found their way slipping out of our hands.

Second, and really the most important feature for us, is the foam that cushions the entire chair. If there is any aspect of a chair the manufacturers need to take seriously, it’s the foam interior. E-Win uses a high density foam engineered to be 2 times heavier than regular foam per cubic foot that they claim is almost equal to memory foam. The bounce back and resiliency should last for years. Since we haven't tested the Flash XL for years yet, again, E-Win will have to be taken on their word here, but it is exciting to think about.

It’s hard not to be a fan of the E-Win Flash XL gaming chair after trying it out for a few weeks. Compared to the other gaming chair used as a reference, which was admittedly very budget friendly, the Flash XL easily shows why spending a little extra money is worth every penny.

Once assembled, the E-Win Flash XL supports anyone taller than 5’7” and can accommodate most body sizes. If you’re on the shorter side, then this isn’t the chair for you. But for bigger or taller gamers tired of staring at chairs that barely support 200 lbs, your golden goose has finally arrived.

At 5’10” and 220 lbs, the chair feels just about perfect.

If you’re looking for a chair that won’t break the bank, will satisfy most of your needs, and cradle you in comfort, than the E-Win Flash XL gaming chair is the chair for you.
